Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's soccer team cruised to a 9-0 triumph over Randolph on Friday afternoon at Watt Field, with six Generals scoring at least one goal to help lead the way to the victory.
Sophomore midfielders Rebecca Morris (Nashville, Tenn. / Harpeth Hall) and Chandler Wickers (Portola Valley, Calif. / Menlo School) led the Blue and White's offense, with Morris tallying two goals and Wicker scoring one goal and dishing out three assists.
The Generals (4-1, 1-0) improved to a 32-0-1 all-time record against the WildCats (1-5-1, 0-1) with the win.
Junior midfielder Hollis Tardy (Dallas, Texas / The Hockaday School) added two goals, while junior defender Katie Clemmons (Phoenix, Ariz. / Chaparral), senior midfielder Rebecca Dunn (Houston, Texas / Memorial) and sophomore midfielder Caroline Hahn (Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) each added one goal. Hahn and first-year midfielder Caroline Peters (Charlotte, N.C. / Charlotte Latin School) also recorded one assist apiece.
Washington and Lee outshot Randolph, 43-1, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 14-0.
Senior keeper Shelbi Hendricks (Louisville, Ky. / Kentucky Country Day) played the entire match in goal for the Generals and did not face a shot. Sophomore goalie Stephanie Quirk (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) suffered the loss for the WildCats, but also played all 90 minutes of action in net and posted 13 saves.
W&L returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Elizabethtown for a 3:00 pm contest.
