Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. — Senior outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) notched 13 kills, as the third-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated sixth-seeded Emory & Henry in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Wednesday.
The Generals (18-14) won the first set, 25-17, and then cruised in the second, 25-15. The Wasps (13-17) led 18-13 in the third, but the Blue and White tallied 12 of the final 15 points, including three kills by Lausberg, to close out the set, 25-21.
Lausberg added six digs and two aces to her 13 kills. Junior middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline) posted eight kills on just 13 attempts (.615 hitting percentage).
Sophomore setter Elena West (Roanoke, Va./Northside) notched a double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Katie Volk (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) recorded a match-high 14 digs.
Sophomore middle hitter Ali Singleton (Mount Jackson, Va./Stonewall Jackson) led E&H with eight kills, while junior libero Emily Hinshaw (Boone, N.C./Watauga) had 12 digs. Junior outside hitter Tristen Pennington (Kingsport, Tenn./Sullivan South) did a little bit of everything for the Wasps with 14 assists, nine digs and six kills.
The Generals will play second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in the semifinals on Saturday at Randolph-Macon.
