Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – Junior forward Tricia Jessee (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) scored two goals for the Washington and Lee women's soccer team en route to posting a 5-0 triumph over Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
Jessee now has 31 career goals, which places her in the Top 10 of W&L's record book. Jessee currently ranks seventh in career goals, with Michelle Bauman '96 and Kate Bidwell '01 tied for sixth-place with 33 goals.
Jessee tallied the Generals' (12-3, 8-2 ODAC) second goal of the contest at the 21:12 mark when she scored off of an assist from first-year midfielder Caroline Peters (Charlotte, N.C. / Charlotte Latin School). Jessee struck again with 6:32 remaining in the first half to increase W&L's lead to 3-0, which it took into intermission.
Peters scored the game-winning tally in the 13th-minute when she beat Yellow Jackets' (6-8, 3-6 ODAC) senior keeper Elizabeth Blanco (Ashburn, Va. / Stone Bridge).
Sophomore midfielder Caroline Hahn (Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) netted the fourth goal of the match at the 61:41 mark unassisted and then senior midfielder Rebecca Dunn (Houston, Texas / Memorial) chipped in a set piece off of a corner kick taken by first-year midfielder Megan Engeland (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) in the 73rd-minute to reach the final margin of 5-0.
W&L held a 14-10 advantage in shots and a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
Senior goalie Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) played 71:32 of the contest and made four saves, while senior Shelbi Hendricks (Louisville, Ky. / Kentucky Country Day) saw the remaining 18:28 and stopped one shot. Blanco suffered the loss for R-MC, playing the entire match in net and recording two saves.
W&L returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Emory & Henry for a 4:00 pm contest.
