LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at Doremus Gym.  The Generals fell to King's, 26-24, and then were defeated by Ferrum, 44-3.

In the loss to King's, the Generals (2-4) trailed 23-3 after the first five weight classes.  W&L forfeited at 125, 141 and 149 pounds, but recovered to win four of the final five matches, falling just short in a bid for its third win of the season.

First-year Brandon Lefore (Morgan Hill, Calif. / Ann Sobrato) got things started with a pin over Ryan Carden in 2:55 at 165 pounds.  First-year George Matelich (Larchmont, N.Y. / Rye Country Day) then fell to Robert Hehl, 8-1, at 174 pounds, but junior Ron Tassoni (Media, Pa. / Haverford School) then picked up a forfeit win at 184 pounds to make it 26-15.  Sophomore Bennett Lewis (St. Louis, Mo. / Westminster Christian) defeated Ryan Longenberger, 7-6, at 197 pounds to make it 26-18 and first-year Matt Kaminer (Hewlett, N.Y. / George W. Hewlett) pinned Brad Lucas in 6:12 at 285 pounds.

Against Ferrum, the Generals forfeited four weight classes and the lone win was recorded by Tassoni, a 10-6 winner over Corbin Ramos at 184 pounds.

The Generals return to action on December 6 when they participate in the Ohio Northern Invitational.
