Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team was held to a .106 hitting percentage, as it lost to Berry, 3-0, on Saturday at the Emory Invitational.
The Generals (24-5) totaled just 23 kills on 85 attempts with 14 errors to total their hitting percentage. In comparison, the Vikings (15-14) hit .361 with 46 kills on 97 attempts with only 11 errors. Berry won the first set, 25-14, the second, 25-12, and the third, 25-21.
Junior outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) led W&L with nine kills. She also had five digs and two service aces. Senior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) totaled a team-high nine digs, while sophomore defensive specialist Sam Moench (St. Petersburg, Fla./Berkeley Prep) added eight. Junior setter Alex Kinzer (Greenville, S.C./Eastside) notched 13 assists.
For Berry, junior middle blocker Katie O'Rourke led all players with 13 kills on just 23 attempts for a .522 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Anna Keappler registered 10 kills and five digs. Junior setter Lauren Schmitz recorded 39 assists, and junior outside hitter Emily Stromberg had 11 digs.
The Generals play their last match of the weekend when they take on sixth-ranked Emory later on Saturday.
