Box Score ROANOKE, Va. — Junior outside hitters Kasey Cannon (North Wales, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) and Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) each totaled double-digit kills to lead the Washington and Lee women's volleyball team to a 3-0 victory at Hollins on Tuesday.
The Generals (18-1, 6-0 ODAC) won the first set, 25-17, took the second, 25-19, and closed out the match in the third, 25-14.
Cannon recorded a match-high 14 kills on 33 attempts, while adding six digs. Lausberg tallied 11 kills on 22 attempts with two errors (.409 hitting percentage). First-year setter Elena West (Roanoke, Va./Northside) started for the first time in her career, and registered 36 assists, nine digs, three service aces and two kills.
W&L had three players with at least 10 digs. First-year defensive specialist Katie Volk (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) led the squad with 13, senior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) notched 12 and junior right side Maddie Kosar (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) had 10. Kosar also added seven kills.
Senior Lauren Hays led Hollins (4-16, 0-6 ODAC) with seven kills, while junior Haley Ortiz recorded a match-high 14 digs.
The Generals have won 17 straight matches, which is the longest streak since winning a program-best 25 during the 2007 season.
W&L travels to fifth-ranked Wittenberg on Saturday. The Generals take on the Tigers at 1:00 pm and John Carroll at 3:00 pm.
