Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior forward Zach Colby (Prairie Village, Kan. / Shawnee Mission East) and first-year midfielder Andrew Kim (Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg) each scored a goal, as the Washington and Lee men's soccer team defeated Bridgewater, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
Colby netted the first tally of the game at the 28:04 mark off of a penalty kick, registering his fifth goal of this season. The Generals took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the 70th minute, a ball deflected off of goalkeeper Kevin Morris (Knoxville, Tenn. / Westminster), and Kim struck the ball into the empty net to secure the win for W&L. Kim now has tallied four goals this year.
Senior keeper Albert Civitarese (Bridgeville, Pa. / Sewickley Academy) played the entire match in the net and recorded four saves. Morris also saw all 90 minutes of action and posted eight saves.
The Generals (7-2, 3-2) out-shot the Eagles (4-8, 3-2), 19-5, and held an edge in corner kicks, 8-4.
W&L returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Ferrum for a 4:30 pm contest.
