Box Score EMORY, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer team tallied a pair of second-half goals in its 2-0 win over Emory & Henry at Fred Selfe Stadium on Wednesday evening to close its 2014-15 regular season.
The Generals (11-4-1, 6-4-1) and the Wasps (3-12-1, 1-10) went into halftime notched at 0-0, despite W&L outshooting E&H, 9-1.
Sophomore defender Patrick Barry (West Roxbury, Mass. / Roxbury Latin School) broke the scoreless tie at the 59:02 mark when he scored off of a corner kick taken by first-year midfielder Andrew Kim (Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg). The Blue and White added an insurance goal in the 76th minute when sophomore midfielder Ted Hurst (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams) set up sophomore midfielder Jake Roberts (Kansas City, Mo. / Barstow School), who beat E&H sophomore keeper Didier Grillet.
Senior goalkeeper Albert Civitarese (Bridgeville, Pa. / Sewickley Academy) played the entire match in net and posted one save for W&L. Grillet also saw all 90 minutes in goal and ended with seven saves for the Wasps.
For the game, W&L out-shot E&H, 21-3, and took 10 corner kicks as opposed to the Wasps' five.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday for the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament. The fifth-seeded Generals will travel to fourth-seeded Hampden-Sydney for a 7:00 pm contest.
