Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's soccer team scored three goals in a minute and 51 seconds, including two by sophomore forward Tricia Jessee (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry), on its way to a 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals (12-1-1, 10-1) and the Yellow Jackets (9-6-1, 6-5) went into halftime notched at 0-0, despite W&L out-shooting Randolph-Macon, 15-2.
Jessee tallied the game-winner in the 71st minute off of an assist from senior midfielder Katie Rossi (Wyoming, Del. / Caesar Rodney). Rossi then scored just 43seconds later when she beat junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Blanco. Jessee netted the final goal of the game at the 72:33 mark off of an assist from sophomore midfielder Kate Sarfert (Winston Salem, N.C. / RJ Reynolds).
Junior keeper Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) played the entire match and registered one save. Blanco also saw all 90 minutes in goal and posted seven saves.
For the game, the Generals out-shot the Yellow Jackets, 25-3, and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
W&L returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Emory & Henry for a 5:00 pm contest.
