Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's soccer team cruised to an 11-0 triumph over Hollins on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field, with seven Generals scoring at least one goal to help lead the way to the victory.
The Generals (10-0-1, 8-0) scored five goals in the opening 12:10 of the game in improving to 29-3-1 all-time against Hollins (0-12, 0-8).
Junior midfielders Erin Harvey (Mission Hills, Kan. / Pembroke Hill) and Becca Dunn (Houston, Texas / Memorial) both totaled two goals and one assist, while senior midfielder Lauren Abraham (Richmond, Va. / Mills E. Goodwin) and first-year midfielder Rebecca Morris (Nashville, Tenn. / Harpeth Hall) each added two goals apiece.
Sophomore midfielder Kate Sarfert (Winston Salem, N.C. / RJ Reynolds) and first-year midfielder Alexa Dreyer (Cary, N.C. / Raleigh Charter) recorded two assists each, and senior midfielder Haley Ward (Federal Way, Wash. / Federal Way) chipped in one goal and one assist.
Washington and Lee out-shot Hollins, 45-0, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-0.
Junior goalkeeper Shelbi Hendricks (Louisville, Ky. / Kentucky Country Day) played the entire match in goal and did not face a shot. Sophomore keeper Megan McKee (Madison, Ala. / Sparkman) also played all 90 minutes in net and recorded 15 saves for Hollins.
W&L returns to action on Saturday, when it travels to Lynchburg for a 1:00 pm contest.
