Box Score

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Second-seeded Washington and Lee advanced in the ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals with a 1-0 victory over seventh-seeded Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.

The Generals improve to 16-2-1 overall and 12-1 in the ODAC, while R-MC ends its season 7-11 overall and 5-8 in conference play.

Junior forward Katherine Rush (Cornelius, N.C./Providence Day School) made her return after suffering an injury early in the season and scored the game-winning goal at the 77:29 mark off a Haley Ward (Federal Way, Wash./Federal Way) assist to secure the victory.

With that assist, Ward moved into fifth place in W&L's Top 10 list for season assists (9) and also ranks eighth for career assists (14).

The Generals defense held strong the entire match, allowing the Yellow Jackets to take only three shots on goal. The Blue and White held a 33-3 advantage in shots and took 25 corner kicks as opposed to one for the Yellow Jackets.

Sophomore goalkeeper Addie Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove) played all 90 minutes and made one save to preserve her eighth shutout of the season. Sophomore Elizabeth Blanco (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) started and played the first 86:32 in goal for Randolph-Macon, making 15 saves with one goal allowed.  Senior Cecilia Quinonez (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) played the final 3:28 and notched one save.

The Generals will either play Bridgewater or Virginia Wesleyan for an ODAC Tournament Semifinal match up on Tuesday.  The time is yet to be determined.
