W&L Women's Soccer Cruises to an 11-0 Win Over Randolph

LEXINGTON, Va. – Six different players found the goal as the Washington and Lee women's soccer team posted an 11-0 win over Randolph in ODAC action on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.

The Generals (10-1, 6-0) were led by junior midfielder Lauren Abraham (Richmond, Va. / Mills E. Godwin), who tallied a hat trick by the 22:35 mark of the first half.  She started the scoring just 6:57 into the game when she scored off of a corner kick by junior midfielder Haley Ward (Federal Way, Wash. / Federal Way). 

Junior midfielder Holley Beasley (Virginia Beach, Va. / Norfolk Academy) made it 2-0 when she scored off an assist from first-year midfielder Katie Pettit (San Diego, Calif. / Scripps Ranch) at 16:44.  Abraham then tallied off an assist from senior midfielder Alexis Blight (Columbia, Md. / McDonogh) at 17:46, and scored again off of a Ward corner kick at 22:35 for a 4-0 lead.

Beasley registered her second goal just 1:36 later, followed by back-to-back goals from first-year forward Camille LeJeune (Lafayette, La. / Episcopal School of Acadiana) for a 7-0 lead only 34:49 into the game.  Both of LeJeune's goals were assisted by first-year defender Kathryn Riley (Charlotte, N.C. / Myers Park).

W&L carried an 8-0 lead into the halftime break and cruised to the 11-goal victory.

Abraham's career day paced the Generals' scoring attack.  LeJeune and first-year midfielder Abby Thornton (Huntsville, Ala. / Huntsville) both totaled two goals and one assist, while Pettit had one goal and two assists.  Beasley scored two goals and Ward had two assists.  Senior goalkeeper Kingsley Schroeder (Dayton, Ohio / Westminster School/Miami Valley) started and played 58:17 in goal, making one save.  Sophomore Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) played the final 31:43 and also posted one save.

Randolph (3-8, 1-5), which was out-shot 29-3, started first-year Caitlin Annunziata (Havelock, N.C. / Havelock) in goal.  She played all 90 minutes, making eight saves.

Washington and Lee will look to extend its winning streak to nine games when it returns to action on Tuesday.  The Generals host Emory & Henry for a 4:00 pm contest.
