Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team used 18 kills and 19 digs from junior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) to earn a 3-1 victory at Rhodes on Friday night.
The Generals (17-7) split the first two sets with the Lynx, but won the final two in claiming the 25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-19 win.
Along with Boles, first-year outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) and senior right side Taylor Maxey (Poway, Calif./The Bishop's School) contributed to the offense. Lausberg totaled 11 kills and Maxey added nine. Junior setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) ran the offense with 19 assists.
On the defensive side, Boles led the team with her 19 digs. First-year defensive specialist Kasey Cannon (North Wales, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) tallied 13.
The victory was the second of the season for the Generals over Rhodes. W&L defeated the Lynx, 3-1, on September 1 at the Maryville Tournament.
The Generals next play Berry at Rhodes on Saturday at 5:00 pm EDT.
