WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team dropped a trio of matches on Saturday afternoon at the Washington & Jefferson Quad.  The Generals were defeated by Muskingum, 25-24, before dropping a 34-6 decision to the host Presidents.  The day concluded with a 27-15 Centennial Conference loss to Gettysburg College.

First-year Eric Fessel (Rockville, Md./Georgerown Prep) led the way with a perfect 2-0 record at 141 pounds.  He opened with a pin of Muskingum's Luke Caracofe (2:05) then sat out of the loss to W&J before returning with a 6-3 victory over Gettysburg's Dan Traficanti in the final match.

A trio of wrestlers all posted 2-1 records for the Generals, including Senior Keith Jaworski (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) at 157 pounds, junior David Dennis (Sherman, W.Va./Ravenswood) at 165 pounds and first-year Jordan Yost (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) at 197 pounds.

Jaworski opened his day with a pin of Muskingum's Thomas Patterson (4:58), but fell to Washington & Jefferson's Tyler Berger, 1-0.  He recovered to defeat Gettysburg's Joe Fiore, 4-1.

Dennis recorded a pin over Adam Harris (2:47) of Muskingum, but was defeated by W&J's David Dibenedetto, 3-2.  He then notched another win by fall, pinning Dan Grabfelder of Gettysburg in 4:13.

Yost pinned Muskingum's Robert Powell in 1:15 but was defeated by Robbie Mies of W&J, 9-1.  He then notched a 2-0 win over Gettysburg's Marshall Puls in the Generals' final match of the day.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it hosts the W&L Invitational beginning at 10:00 am.
