Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. - Six Generals recorded double-digit points as
the Washington and Lee women's basketball team cruised to a
88-53 victory over Emory & Henry in ODAC women's
basketball action on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (12-8, 11-5 ODAC) opened the game with a 8-0 run over
the first 4:01 and never looked back as the Wasps (5-13, 4-9) shot
just 22.7 percent (5-22) from the floor in the first period and
W&L grabbed a 28 point lead (46-18) at the half.
The Generals shot 50.7 percent (37-73) from the field, including
40.0 percent (10-25) from behind the arc, while the Wasps shot just
27.9 percent (17-61) for the game. Additionally, W&L
outrebounded the Wasps, 54-30, and recorded a season-high 25
assists, just three short of the program's single game
record.
First-year forward Rachel Warrick (Herndon, Va./Langley) led
W&L with 16 points, first-year guard Katy Wilson (Chattanooga,
Tenn/Baylor) added 14 points, sophomore forward Kari Ann
Pfannenstein (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) contributed 13 points, Meg
Ingram (Greensboro, N.C./Ragsdale) chipped in 12 points, sophomore
forward Becca Bolton (Pittsboro, N.C./Chatham Central) scored 10
points and senior center Kaitlyn Kamp (Bloomington, Minn./Lutheran)
registered 10 points. This marks the first time since February 17,
1998 that six Generals tabbed double-digit points in a single
game.
Additionally for W&L Bolton grabbed 11 rebounds for her 11th
double-double of the season, and Wilson recorded a career-high 11
rebounds for her first career double-double. Ingram also tied a
career-high with eight assists and Kamp notched a season-high seven
boards.
Emory & Henry was paced by senior forward Alex Lyons
(Bristol, Tenn./Tennessee High), and junior guard Christina
Howard (Blountville, Tenn./Sullivan Central) who recorded a
team-high 13 points. Senior guard Baylie Snyder (Galax, Va./Galax)
chipped in 10 points and senior guard (Sarah Petty (White Bluff,
Tenn./Creek Wood) added seven points and six rebounds.
The Generals will return to action on Saturday as they host
Randolph-Macon for a 2:00 matchup.
