Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team
fell, 3-0, to No. 6 Christopher Newport on Friday afternoon on day
one of the CNU Invitational.
The Captains defeated W&L 25-12, 25-18, 25-19 to improve
to 20-1 on the season, while the Generals slipped to 13-3.
Sophomore right side
Bailey Walker (Centennial,
Colo./Regis Jesuit) and first-year outside hitter
M.A. Boles (Houston,
Texas/St. John's) led the Generals with six kills apiece as CNU
limited W&L to a .026 hitting percentage. Senior middle blocker
Louise Brooks
(Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) and junior middle blocker
Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee,
Fla./Maclay School) notched five kills apiece.
Junior defensive specialist
Megan Tomlinson
(Petersburg, Pa./Huntingdon Area) paced the Generals with 13 digs
and senior defensive specialist
Jenna Finger (Homer Glen,
Ill./Lockport Township) chipped in 10 digs.
First-year setter
Meghan Meleski (Richmond,
Va./Mills Godwin) posted a team-high 18 assists.
W&L returns to action on day one of the CNU Invitational when
it takes on Haverford at 6:00 pm.
