Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee hit a robust .409 as a team
and pounded out 16 service aces in defeating Sweet Briar, 3-0, in
volleyball action on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
W&L swept the Vixens (3-11, 2-5 ODAC) 25-8, 25-9, 25-10 to
improve to 13-2, 5-1 on the season.
First-year outside hitters
M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St.
John's) and
Allison Rouse (Troy, Mich./Troy) led the
Generals' offensive attack with 11 and 10 kills,
respectively. Rouse hit .500 for the match, while Boles hit at a
.381 clip. First-year middle blocker
Emily Hudson (Charlotte,
N.C./Myers Park) added five kills with a .714 hitting
percentage.
Boles also added a team-high five service aces and sophomore libero
Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) chipped in four service aces
and a team-high 10 digs while Boles added five digs.
First-year setter
Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) paced
W&L with 12 assists.
W&L returns to the court on Friday when it opens play at the
CNU Invitational by taking on host Christopher Newport at 2:00
pm.
