Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer
team recorded two goals in the second half as it defeated Southern
Virginia University, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at the SVU
Fields.
After a scoreless first half, senior forward James Pymm (Smithtown,
N.Y./St. Anthony's) put the Generals (3-4-2) on the board with an
unassisted marker in the 58th minute. Junior
midfielder/forward Jamie Paldino (Kensington,
Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) secured the 2-0 victory for W&L with an
unassisted goal in the 74th minute.
For the contest, the Generals held a 7-5 advantage in shots and
a 8-3 edge in corner kicks over the host Knights (7-4).
Senior keeper Will
Dorrance (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) played all 90:00, stopping one
shot. SVU netminders Ben May and Richard Crist split time, with
Crist tallying two saves.
The Generals return to action on Saturday as they travel to
Hampden-Sydney for a 1:00 pm contest.
