Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior forward James Pymm (Smithtown,
N.Y./St. Anthony's) recorded his second goal of the season, but it
was not enough as the Washington and Lee men's soccer team fell to
Guilford College, 3-1, on Saturday evening at the Armfield Athletic
Center.
Pymm put the Generals (2-4-2, 1-3 ODAC) on the board in the
27th minute with an unassisted marker to give W&L a
1-0 advantage. Guilford (6-3-2, 2-1-1 ODAC) responded in the
39th minute with a tally from sophomore forward Amir
Moore to knot the game at 1-1 going into the half.
Guilford added two goals in the second half to secure the 3-1
victory, with senior forward Jordan Alexander recording a goal in
the 72nd minute and sophomore midfielder Freddy Gomez
finding the net in the 81st minute.
Junior keeper Alex
Lambert (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Chaminade) played all 90:00 for
the Generals, stopping two shots. Guilford's Michael MacVane also
played the duration, recording two saves.
W&L returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to
Southern Virginia University for a 4:00 pm contest.
