No. 3 Emory Bests W&L Volleyball, 3-0

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team fell to defending NCAA Division III National Champion and third-ranked Emory, 3-0, in the day's final match of the Emory Invitational on Friday evening.

W&L (3-7) kept it close, but ultimately fell 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

The Generals were led offensively by junior Marah Schmitz (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), as she tallied a team-high 10 kills. First-year Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) led W&L with 12 digs, while Schmitz added nine digs and senior Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South).

Megan Steinhardt (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) added 20 assists.

The Generals return to action on Saturday at 1:00 pm when they are set to play Thomas More.
