Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – The Washington and Lee
men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie in double-overtime
against Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon at Sprint Field at Shentel
Stadium.
W&L (2-1-1) recorded an own goal in the 10th minute of the
match to open the scoring, but the Generals could not hold off
Shenandoah (1-4-2). The Hornets would score their lone goal of the
match in the 47th minute of the second half, when first-year
Joan-Josep Vallejo Augsti found senior Adam Aldinger for the
game-tying goal.
Junior goalie Ben Bartlett (Towson, Md./McDonogh) played 110
minutes in net, allowing one goal and recording six saves.
Shenandoah netminder Arman Bozorgmanesh also played the duration,
allowing one goal and tallying eight saves.
The Generals will return to the field Wednesday as they travel to
Randolph-Macon for a 4:00 pm match.
