WESTMINSTER, Md. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team completed its 2008-09 season with a seventh place finish out of eight teams at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by McDaniel College on Saturday afternoon.

The Generals had three placewinners at the championships led by first-year Ben Ersing (Beverly, Mass./St. John's Prep), who went 3-1 to place third in the 125-pound weight class. He then advanced by injury default and pinned Gettysburg's Abe Evans in 1:22 in the third-place match.

First-year Sam Campbell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) finished fourth at 133 pounds. Campbell fell to Muhlenberg's Billy Hall in his opener, but defeated Getttysburg's Michael Slabinski, 12-8. He then advanced past Stevens' Mark Bistis by disqualification, but was a medical forfeit in the third-place match.

First-year David Dennis (Sherman, W.Va./Ravenswood) also finished fourth in the 157-pound weight class.
