Box Score 2 DANVILLE, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team opened
play in the Averett Invitational with a 3-1 win over the host
Cougars on Friday evening.
W&L (7-10), which posted back-to-back wins for the first time
all season, defeated Averett by scores of 25-13, 24-26, 25-20,
28-26.
The Generals were led by junior Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn
Mawr) and her team-high 12 kills. Sophomore Megan Daily
(Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) added eight kills and 14 digs,
while first-year Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) posted 29
digs.
Junior Jenna Finger (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) had seven
service aces and 13 digs, while senior Kristi Stevens (Overland
Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) ran the offense and recorded 30
assists.
The Generals continue play on day one of the Averett Invitational
when they take on Roanoke at 7:00 pm.
