Virginia Beach, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's
soccer team fell to Virginia Wesleyan by a score of 1-0 on
Wednesday afternoon at Foster Field.
After a scoreless first half, VWC (8-3-1, 4-1 ODAC) got on the
board in the 51st minute with a goal from senior forward Brandon
Massie off assists from fellow senior forwards Jason Malkiewicz and
Robbie Mann to secure the 1-0 victory over the Generals (3-3-3,
1-2-2 ODAC).
Junior goalkeeper Ben Bartlett (Towson, Md./McDonogh) played all
90:00 minutes and stopped eight shots for the Generals, while VWC
sophomore goalie Ryan Zmuda registered one save.
The Generals return to action Saturday for a homecoming matchup
against Roanoke. The start time is slated for 3:00 pm.
