Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's
soccer team fell to Hampden-Sydney, 3-0, in the quarterfinal match
of the ODAC men's soccer tournament on Saturday at Miller
Field.
The Generals (5-7-4) held the Tigers (16-3-0) to just three shots
in the first half, but defender Matt Swaney connected on one of
those in the 41st minute to put H-SC up 1-0 at the half. The Tigers
would add two goals in the second half, with forward Bryan Hughes
recording back-to-back goals in the 52nd and 57th minutes to secure
the 3-0 victory.
Sophomore goalie Alex Lambert (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Chaminade)
played all 90 minutes in net, allowing three goals while recording
no saves. H-SC goalie John Robert Plyer also played the duration,
notching five saves en route to the shutout.
The Generals end their season with a 5-7-4 overall record,
including a 3-6-2 record in the ODAC.
