Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior forward Roz Klann (Denver,
Colo./George Washington) and sophomore forward Anne Masich
(Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) each recorded a goal as the Washington
and Lee women's soccer team went on to defeat Randolph-Macon
College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in Ashland.
Klann would put the Generals (7-1, 5-0 ODAC) on the board first,
recording a goal in the 43rd minute off a helper from junior
midfielder Laura Yungmeyer (Kingsport, Tenn./Dobyns Bennett),
giving the Generals a 1-0 lead at the half.
Masich would add a goal of her own in the 64th minute with an
assist from first-year Ainsley Daigle (Lafayette, La./Episcopal
School of Acadiana) to secure the 2-0 victory for the Generals.
Sophomore goalie Emily Leary (Cincinnati, Ohio/Kings) played all
90 minutes in net and recorded four saves en route to posting the
shutout. Randolph-Macon (6-4, 3-3) goalie Mary Jocelyn also played
the duration, allowing two goals and recording two saves.
The Generals are back in action Sunday as they face Randolph at
Watt Field. The start time is slated for 2:00 pm.
