EMORY, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's team
recorded multiple-point performances from three players as they
cruised with a 6-0 victory over Emory & Henry on Wednesday
evening at Fred Selfe Stadium.
Sophomore forward Anne Masich (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) led the
Generals (12-1-1, 8-0-1 ODAC) with five points, recording two goals
in the 38th and 61st minutes and an assist on senior midfielder
Maggie Sutherland's (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) goal
in the 50th minute. Junior midfielder Taylor Garrett (Birmingham,
Ala./Mountain Brook) also recorded a multiple-goal contest,
recording back-to-back goals in the 69th and 77th minutes.
Sophomore defender Kelsy McCraw (Greenville, S.C./Christ Church
Episcopal) would record the final Generals' multiple-point
performance recording two assists, her first coming on the first
Masich goal in the 38th minute and the second on Garrett's second
goal in the 77th minute.
First-year Sarah Stiefvater (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) also
made the board, recording her first collegiate goal in the 63rd
minute off a helper from sophomore defender Page Minton (Bowling
Green, Ky./Bowling Green).
Generals goalies sophomore goalie Emily Leary (Cincinnati,
Ohio/Kings) and junior Taylor Joosten (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatious
College Prep), shared time in the net, with Leary playing 65:00 and
recording no saves en-route to the shutout while Joosten recorded
25:00 and one save. E&H (8-8, 2-7 ODAC) goalie Hayley Poland
also played the duration, allowing six goals while recording eight
saves.
The Generals return to action Saturday as they travel to Guilford
for a 6:00 pm contest.
