LEXINGTON, Va.- The Washington and Lee men's soccer team
recorded two goals in the second half to defeat Emory & Henry,
2-0, Wednesday afternoon at Watt Field.
The game remained scoreless through the first half and partway
through the second until junior midfielder Ben Belair (McLean,
Va./Langley) recorded an unassisted marker in the 61st minute to
put the Generals (4-4-3, 2-3-2 ODAC) up 1-0. Sophomore midfielder
James Paldino (Kensington, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) would add an
insurance goal in the 84th minute with a helper from senior
midfielder Drew Crowley (Weston, Mass./Weston) to secure the 2-0
victory over the Wasps (2-12, 0-7 ODAC).
Junior goalie Ben Bartlett (Towson, Md./McDonogh) played all 90:00
in net for the Generals, recording one save en route to the
shutout. Emory & Henry junior goalie Daniel Mills (Abingdon,
Va./Abingdon) would also play the duration, allowing two goals
while recording 12 saves.
The Generals return to action Sunday as they travel to Ferrum for a
2:00 pm match.
