LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior forward Sallie Armstrong (Houston, Texas/St. John's) tallied two goals and an assist and first-year midfielder Katharine Price (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) notched a pair of goals as the Washington and Lee field hockey team blanked Roanoke, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the W&L Turf Field.

W&L (6-6, 4-2 ODAC) had seven different players register at least one point in winning for the fifth time in its last seven games, while the Maroons slipped to 2-10 overall and 2-3 in the ODAC.

The Generals jumped on the board in the fourth minute of the game when Armstrong netted the first of her goals off a penalty corner with sophomore forward Christina Benedetti (Derwood, Md./Holy Cross) assisting. Junior defender Kelly Tran (Simsbury, Conn./Ethel Walker) made it 2-0 when she scored unassisted at the 14:19 mark.

W&L would make it 3-0 heading into the break when senior forward Steph Mansey (Mendham, N.J./Randolph) deposited a pass from Armstrong past RC sophomore Cristina Scichilone (South Yarmouth, Mass./Nauset Regional) at 21:28.

Price scored the first of her two goals just 21 seconds into the second half when Benedetti found her in front of the cage to put the score at 4-0. Armstrong then notched her second goal at the 40:59 mark following a pass from junior midfielder Emmy Mathews (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr). Armstrong, who recently became W&L's all-time leading scorer, has now registered eight goals and two assists in her last five games after recording just three goals in her first six games of the season.

The Generals added two late unassisted tallies, the first by Price at 63:03 and the second by sophomore defender Susie Giampalmo (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg) at 63:33, to account for the final 7-0 score.

On the game, the Generals outshot Roanoke 34-1 and boasted a 16-1 advantage in penalty corners. Scichilone made 14 saves for the Maroons, while senior Caroline Habliston (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) and first-year Caroline Sutherland (Huntington, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) both saw time in the cage for W&L.
