Box Score 2 DANVILLE, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team extended
its season-high winning streak to five matches and completed the
Averett Invitational with a sterling 4-0 record after defeating
Ferrum, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals (10-10) won by scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 in
getting to the .500 mark for the first time this season.
Senior Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) posted a
team-high 15 kills to lead the offense. Junior Marah Schmitz
(Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) chipped in seven kills and senior Kelly
Harrison (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School) added six kills.
Senior Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South)
recorded 36 assists and junior Summer Goldberg (Marietta,
Ga./Woodward Academy) added 14 digs.
At the conclusion of play, junior Louise Brooks (Baltimore,
Md./Bryn Mawr) and Stevens were both named to the All-Tournament
team.
The Generals return to action on Tuesday when they take on Sweet
Briar at 6:30 pm.
