GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team scored six unanswered goals over the final three periods to pull away for a 13-4 victory over Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon.
W&L held a 6-3 lead late in the second quarter when junior midfielder Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson) ignited the scoring streak on an unassisted tally with just 21 seconds remaining in the half. Skeen then scored the first goal of the third quarter just 51 seconds into the period and senior attackman Will Englehart (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) notched three scores over the third and fourth periods, including a pair that were assisted by Skeen, as the Generals (4-3) pulled away for the win.
Englehart led the W&L offense with a career-high five goals, while Skeen tallied two goals and five assists. Sophomore attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman) posted one goal and two assists and junior midfielders Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Seth Fishman (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford) each chipped in two goals. Junior Connor Locke (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) played all 60 minutes in goal for W&L and made 13 saves.
Attackman Jordan Drumheller paced the Pride (1-7) with two goals, while midfielder Brian Bishop totaled one goal and three assists. Mike Foderaro played all 60 minutes in goal and made 12 saves.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday at as it hosts 11th-ranked Middlebury for a 6:00 pm contest.
