Women's Basketball vs. Emory & Henry

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore center Kaitlyn Kamp (Bloomington, Minn./Lutheran) totaled career highs in points (19) and rebounds (17) as Washington and Lee posted a 82-69 victory over Emory & Henry in ODAC women's basketball action on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals (6-12, 5-8) used a hot-shooting first half (60.0, 21-35) to take a 50-27 lead into the break. W&L continued to hold a double-digit advantage throughout the second half, but the Wasps attempted a late comeback, cutting the score to 11 points twice in the waning seconds of the game. However, the Blue and White connected on six of its eight foul shot attempts in the final 18 seconds to secure its second-straight win.

W&L's 50-point first half is its largest opening-stanza output since a 59-point first half against Lesley in 2000-01.

Additionally, the Generals posted a season-high 26 assists and out-rebounded E&H, 41-31.

Kamp hit 8-of-10 of her attempts from the floor and was 3-of-4 from the foul line en route to her career night. Junior guard Bethany Ridenhour (Westwood, N.J./Holy Angels), and senior forwards Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy) and Amanda Kane (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) also posted double-digits in scoring for the Generals. Ridenhour tied a season-high with 19 points and tied her career-high with six assists. Krouchick notched 15 points and five assists, while Kane registered 14 points and a career-high eight assists.

E&H (6-13, 4-10) was paced by sophomores Alex Lyons (Bristol, Tenn./Tennessee) and Sarah Petty (White Bluff, Tenn./Creek Wood), who each dropped in 21 points. Petty also dished out five assists and added five rebounds.

The Generals look to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on Randolph College on Friday at 7:00 pm in Lynchburg, Va.
