W&L Men's Basketball Falls to Bridgewater, 55-42

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Washington and Lee shot just 22.2 percent from the floor en route to a 55-42 loss to Bridgewater on Wednesday evening at Nininger Hall.

The Generals (5-3, 1-1) shot just 20.0 percent (5-25) in the first half and trailed 25-13 at the break. The Eagles (3-4, 1-0) opened the second half on a 13-1 run to stretch out to a 38-14 lead with 15:42 remaining and cruised to their first ODAC win of the season.

W&L, which had a four-game winning streak snapped, was paced by senior guard Chris McHugh (Chatham, N.J./Chatham), who notched 13 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. Junior forward Ben Goetsch (Timonium, Md./Gilman) tallied nine points, while junior forward Zac White (Baltimore, Md./Park School) notched seven points and six boards. Bridgewater was led by Michael Oblitey's 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Dominic Trawick added 11 points and five boards.

The Generals will now break for exams and the holidays before returning home to host the W&L Invitational on Jan. 2-3. W&L will open with Kalamazoo on Friday at 2:00 pm.
