HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The W&L field hockey team saw its season come to an end as it dropped a 6-0 decision to the top-seeded Royals of Eastern Mennonite in the semifinals of the ODAC tournament on Wednesday evening.
The Generals (10-9) found themselves down 1-0 just 3:22 into the contest on an unassisted goal by the Royals' Alyssa Derstine. Eastern Mennonite stretched its lead to 2-0 at the break when Julie Denlinger scored off a feed from Kate Cimini at the 33:55 mark.
In the second half, EMU received three goals from Cimini and one from Valerie Landis as they improved to 14-4 on the season.
Junior goalkeeper Caroline Habliston (St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) played all 70 minutes in goal for the Generals and was credited with eight saves, while junior Grace McGee (Virginia Beach, Va./Floyd E. Kellam) recorded two defensive saves and sophomore Jennie Norcini (Wayne, Pa./Episcopal) added one.
 EMU keeper Becky Nolt also played the duration and recorded three saves. W&L finishes the 2008 season with an overall record of 10-9, its fourth-straight winning campaign.
Eastern Mennonite will take on the winner of the Lynchburg vs. Bridgewater contest for the ODAC Championship on Saturday .
