LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior forward Anne Van Devender (Jackson, Miss./Choate Rosemary Hall) notched two goals and dished out one helper as the Washington and Lee women's soccer team shutout Emory & Henry, 10-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Watt Field.

The Generals (10-4, 7-2) struck early when Van Devender found the back of the net unassisted at the 4:35 mark. W&L then added five more goals, including another from Van Devender to take a 6-0 lead into the half and cruise to the 10-goal victory.

With Van Devender's two goals, she now ranks second all-time in career goals at W&L (58). Additionally, her 31 career assists and her 147 career points are also second all-time.

Van Devender was supported in the scoring column by first-year midfielders Camille Cobb (Huntersville, N.C./Harding University) and Hannah Deming (Princeton, N.J./Princeton), who both netted two scores, apiece. First-year forward Allie Espina (Gaithersburg, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) and sophomore midfielder Taylor Garrett (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) also added one goal and dished out one assist, apiece.

W&L first-year netminder Emily Leary (Loveland, Ohio/Kings) and sophomore Taylor Joosten (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius College Prep) split time between the pipes and did not face a shot, while first-year Hayley Poland (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) played 90 minutes and registered 16 saves for the Wasps (10-7, 3-6).

The Generals return to action on Saturday when they host Guilford for a 3:00 pm game.
