NORFOLK, Va.-- Virginia Wesleyan sophomore guard Tonia Jones (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) led three players in double figures with 20 points to lead the Marlins to a 52-38 victory over Washington & Lee in ODAC women's basketball on Tuesday evening at the Donald M. Forsyth Court.

The Generals (3-7, 2-3) shot 22.2 percent in the first half on 6-of-27 shooting and the Marlins pushed out a double-digit lead at the end of the first stanza, 27-16. The Blue and White opened the second half scoring the first three baskets, cutting the Marlins lead to 27-22 at 17:46. The Generals also trailed by six on three occasions, but the Marlins took a 12-point lead on a three-pointer by Jones at 7:38 and never trailed by less than double-digits the rest of the way.

The Generals were paced by sophomore center Kaitlyn Kamp (Bloomington, Minn./Lutheran), who recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard Allie Long (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hastings) also notched nine points, while junior forward Kara Nadeau (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) recorded eight points and eight rebounds.

Jones' notched five rebounds for the Marlins (9-2, 6-0), while senior forward Heather Phillips (Hillsboro, Va./Ashburn Stone Bridge) tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds. Senior forward Taylor Lowe (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) also registered 12 points.

 Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday as it travels to Roanoke for a 7:00 pm contest.
