Bridgewater senior guard Jessica Timberlake (Charlottesville, Va./Madison County) sunk one of two free throws in the final 2.6 seconds of the game to give the Eagles a 50-49 victory over Washington and Lee ODAC women's basketball on Saturday at the Nininger Hall.

The opening minutes of the contest featured nine lead changes and two ties, but BC built a seven-point lead (25-18) with 3:20 to play in the first half. W&L closed the first stanza with five unanswered points in the last 7.1 seconds to cut the Bridgewater lead to 27-25.

The Eagles opened the second half with an 8-2 run to take a 35-27 lead at 15:26 and continued to lead by as many as nine points twice in the final 5:10 of the contest. However, the Generals scored six-straight points to cut it to a three-point game, (46-43), at 1:27. BC then upped the lead to five, (48-43), with 42 seconds left. The Generals then scored three-pointers on back-to-back possessions to tie the game 49-49, but Timberlake was fouled and hit the second of her attempts to give the Eagles the victory.

The Generals (4-12, 3-8) were paced by senior forward Amanda Kane (Fairfax Stations, Va./Robinson), who registered her first-ever double-double on 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Freshman center Felice Herman (Fairfield, Pa./Delone Catholic) tallied 12 points and collected six boards, while senior guard Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy) chipped in eight points and grabbed nine boards.

The Eagles (8-7,6-5) had three players in double figures including Timberlake, who notched 11 points and four steals. Sophomore forward Nikki Sydnor (Radford, Va./Radford) tallied 10 points and seven rebounds, while freshman guard Emileigh Lambert (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) and junior center Rebecca Henderson (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) both notched 10 points and seven rebounds, respectively.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts Guilford at 7:00 pm.
