LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team dropped a pair of Centennial Conference matches on Saturday afternoon as the Generals hosted McDaniel College, Stevens Tech and the US Merchant Marine Academy for a quad meet at Doremus Gym. The Generals dropped a 44-6 decision to Stevens Tech and fell to USMMA, 48-3. W&L and McDaniel did not meet.
Leading the way for the Generals were seniors Kirk Adamson (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) and David Shubick (Bound Brook, N.J./Bound Brook), who both went 1-1 on the day. Adamson posted his win over senior 184-pounder Troy McGuinness (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) of the Merchant Marines, 8-2, while Shubick pinned Stevens Tech junior 133-pounder Mark Bistis (Readington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) in 4:56.
In other action, USMMA defeated McDaniel, 42-6, while Stevens Tech downed McDaniel, 33-12.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Wednesday as it hosts Southern Virginia for a 7:00 pm dual match.
