BALTIMORE, Md.-- Gabi Henn broke a scoreless tie with a goal at the 94:59 mark to lead 11th-ranked Johns Hopkins to a 1-0 double-overtime win over Washington and Lee in field hockey action on Sunday afternoon in Baltimore, Md.
The two teams played scoreless through two regulation periods and one overtime, before Henn found the cage off an assist from Leah Horton in the second extra frame.
The Blue Jays (5-1) out-shot W&L, 40-2, but senior goalkeeper Tara Rubenstein (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) kept the Generals (3-2) in it with a school-record 20 saves. Sophomore defender Grace McGee (Virginia Beach, Va./Floyd E. Kellam) chipped in two defensive saves, while senior midfielder Kendall Korte (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox) also notched one defensive save.
Megan Maguire played in goal for the Blue Jays and did not make a stop.
The Generals return to ODAC action on Friday as they host Randolph-Macon for a 6:00 pm contest.
