LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior midfielder Laura Jackson (Elkton, Md./North East) scored a pair of second-half goals to lift No. 12 Virginia Wesleyan over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's soccer action on Saturday morning at Watt Field.

The Generals (5-2, 3-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute when junior forward Anne Van Devender (Jackson, Miss./Choate Rosemary Hall) delivered the ball to junior forward Erica Giordano (Cranford, N.J./Mount. St. Mary Academy), who snuck it past VWC senior goalkeeper Lindsey Williams (Princeton, N.J./W. Windsor-Plainsboro South).

W&L held onto the one-goal advantage until 57:53 when Jackson tallied the equalizing goal off an assist from senior midfielder Missy Kuhns (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson). Jackson then found the back of the net again in the 73rd minute to give the Marlins (5-1-2, 4-0) the lead and the 2-1 victory.

Junior Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) made four saves in goal for W&L, while Williams also tallied four stops

The Generals return to action on Wednesday when they host Bridgewater at 4:00 pm.
