LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Washington and Lee battled Lynchburg to a 0-0 double-overtime tie in ODAC men's soccer action on Wednesday evening at Shellenberger Field.
The Generals' (2-1-2, 0-0-1 ODAC) best scoring opportunity came about 20 minutes into the second half when a corner from junior midfielder Whitt Larkin (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) was redirected by junior defender John Lindsay (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield), but his shot missed wide.
The Blue and White held a 22-19 advantage in shots and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
W&L senior goalkeeper Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) played all 110 minutes and stopped six shots. Lynchburg's (5-1-1, 0-0-1 ODAC) Marcus Jordan also made six saves.
The Generals return to action on Saturday when they host Guilford on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field at 3:00 pm.
