W&L Women’s Basketball Falls To Eastern Mennonite, 68-48

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Eastern Mennonite shot 72.0 percent (18-25) from the floor in the first half en route to a 68-48 victory over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Yoder Arena.

The Royals (16-5, 14-3) used their hot shooting to jump out to a 41-26 halftime advantage and led by as many as 24 points in the second stanza in cruising to the 20-point win.

Washington and Lee (12-10, 8-9), which shot just 33.9 percent (20-59) from the field and was out-rebounded 38-28, was led by senior center Jessica Hunsinger's (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks. Junior guard Emily Wolff (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) added seven points.

EMU, which shot 56.9 percent (29-51) for the game, was paced by Carolyn Riley's 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. Jolene Kratz added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Hollins for a 7:00 pm contest.
