HOLLINS, Va.-- Senior forward Amanda Kane (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) led five W&L players in double-figures with a season-high 15 points as the Generals cruised to a 80-50 victory over Hollins in ODAC women's basketball on Tuesday evening.
The Generals (2-5, 1-2) jumped out to a 38-10 lead with 5:40 remaining in the first half, but Hollins closed the opening stanza with a 16-6 run to cut it to a 44-26 game at the break. W&L answered the run with a 20-3 outburst in the opening 7:41 of the second half to open a 64-29 lead with 12:19 remaining in cruising to the 80-50 victory.
Kane also grabbed five rebounds for the Generals, while freshman center Felice Herman (Fairfield, Pa./Delone Catholic) tied a career-high with 11 points and grabbed a career-high 15 boards. Junior guard Bethany Ridenhour (Westwood, N.J./Holy Angels) tallied 12 points and tied her career-high with six assists, while senior guard Emily Wolff (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) notched 11 points and a season-high five steals. Senior guard Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy) also chipped in 10 points.
Nicole Grant recorded 18 points and seven rebounds, while Tamara Phillips chipped in 12 points and four steals for Hollins (0-6, 0-4).
Washington and Lee returns to action on Thursday as it hosts Apprentice School for a 6:00 pm game.
