GRANTHAM, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team finished 11th out of 13 teams in the second day of the Messiah Petrofes Invitational on Saturday at the Hitchcock Arena. The Generals had four grapplers finish in the top eight.

 W&L was led by senior John Christopher (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons), who placed third in the 197-pound weight class, while senior Kirk Adamson (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) finished sixth at 184 pounds.

Senior Anthony Boniello (Katonah, N.Y./Somers) and senior Peter Lawrence (Greenwich, Conn./Loomis-Chaffee) both had eighth-place finishes. Boniello wrestled at 165 pounds, while Lawrence competed in the 149-pound weight class.

The Generals return to action on Sat., Jan. 5 when they compete in the Washington and Jefferson Quadrangular at 1:00 pm.
