Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team improved its record to 23-5 overall and 9-1 in the ODAC with a 30-21, 32-30, 30-27, 30-22 triumph over Lynchburg College on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Blue and White were paced by sophomore outside hitter Rachael Phillips' (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) season-high 25 kills, while senior right side Jess Hudock (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names) registered 10 kills, eight digs, and five service aces.
Also making headway for the Generals was junior right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area), who notched 16 kills and 11 digs, while freshman outside hitter Marah Schmitz (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) tallied 19 digs. Sophomore setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) chipped in 37 assists.
With the loss, the Hornets are now 17-7 overall and 8-2 in the ODAC.
W&L returns to action this weekend at the Maryville Tournament. The Generals tip off the tournament against Rhodes on Friday at 4:00 pm.
