VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's soccer team was defeated by 21st-ranked Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0, on Saturday evening at Foster Field.
After 90 minutes of regulation, sophomore forward Brandon Massie dished a ball to sophomore forward Clay Price, who snuck the ball past W&L senior goalkeeper Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) at 94:57.
Sheedy made five saves for the W&L, while Zane Krezonis tallied six stops for VWC.
The Marlins held a slim edge in corner kicks (4-2) and shots (13-11).
With the win, the Marlins improve to 14-2 overall (6-2 ODAC), while the Generals fall to 10-2-2 (6-1-1 ODAC) with the loss.
