Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Washington and Lee volleyball team cruised to a 30-26, 30-20, 30-22 victory over Randolph-Macon on Thursday evening at Crenshaw Gymnasium.
The Generals (21-5, 7-1) were led by junior outside hitter Laura Maurer's (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) 12-kill, 19-dig effort.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) contributed 11 kills and six digs, while junior right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) posted eight kills and 16 digs. Senior right side Jess Hudock (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names) notched six kills and 16 digs and freshman outside hitter Marah Schmitz (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) added 13 digs and three service aces.
Sophomore setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) amassed 21 assists, four digs and three service aces, while senior setter Lauren Rudolph (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) logged 18 assists and seven digs.
The loss dropped Randolph-Macon to 10-11 overall and 5-2 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it travels to Randolph College for a 12:00 pm contest.
