W&L Volleyball Tops Eastern Mennonite, 3-0

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee volleyball team clinched its 10th-straight 20-win season with a 30-21, 30-14, 30-23 victory over Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday evening at the EMU University Commons.

The Generals (20-5, 6-1), who have won 16 consecutive matches, were led by sophomore outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep), who totaled a team-high 16 kills. Junior outside hitter Laura Maurer (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) notched nine kills, 12 digs and three service aces, while senior right side Jess Hudock (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names) registered seven kills and nine digs. Sophomore setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) amassed 20 assists and 10 digs and senior setter Lauren Rudolph (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) chipped in 16 assists and four digs.

With the loss, Eastern Mennonite fell to 7-19 overall and 1-6 in the ODAC.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Thursday evening as it travels to Randolph-Macon for a 7:00 pm match.
