LEXINGTON, Va. -- Junior midfielder Josh Dodds (Marion, Iowa/Linn-Marr) scored the lone goal as the Washington and Lee Generals kicked off their 2006 season with a 1-0 victory over the Southern Virginia Knights on Friday afternoon at Watt Field.
After a scoreless first half, W&L found the back of the net in the 54th minute when Dodds slipped the ball past SVU's goalkeeper Dustin Jensen.
The Generals, who won their 12th-straight home-opener, commanded the offensive tone of the contest as they out-shot the Knights, 22-3, and also held the advantage on corner kicks, 6-0.

The Generals return to action on Sunday as they travel to Washington, D.C., to face-off against Catholic at 1 pm.
