SALEM, Va. -- Sophomore midfielder John Lindsay (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) scored two goals as the Washington and Lee men's soccer team improved to 8-0 for the first time in school history with a 3-1 ODAC win over Roanoke on Saturday afternoon in Salem, Va.

The game was knotted at 0-0 through the first half and into the second half until a flurry of offensive action ensued with just over 15 minutes to play in regulation. Lindsay scored the first goal of the game at 74:53 to put the Generals up 1-0, but Roanoke quickly responded with a score by E.J. O'Keeffe at 75:49. Lindsay followed with the game-winner less than two minutes later in the 78th minute and senior forward Kyle Garcia (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) iced the game by making good on a penalty kick at 77:56.

Junior Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) made two saves in goal for W&L (8-0, 3-0 ODAC), while Austin Rose also registered two saves for the Maroons (2-5-1, 1-1 ODAC).
